The final months of 2019 were hectic with a move to the Northern Territory and work creeping into my adventure time. 2020 started with a burst of social activity, a defib hit to the Darwin Outdoor Adventure Group (DOAG) to kickstart the year right...with an adventure.
Our first social, which was under threat by a cyclonic conditions, produced a long wish list generated from DOAG's attendees. And the first cab off the rank was a day trip to Walker Creek.
Walker Creek in Litchfield National Park, located just an hour and a half south of Darwin Australia, consists of 8 hike in campsites, each with its own private natural fresh water pool. Campers just need to sign in on the chalkboard at the trailhead and reservations are on a first come first serve basis. On 18 January 2020, seven DOAG members came together to explore each of the sites/pools for insight on how to plan a future overnight camp trip.
Each of the eight sites/pools had its own unique characteristics. To learn more, watch the vLog below.
I am truely excited about 2020. It will be a year in which positive change from 2019 will bear its fruit. It will be a year of balance and sacrifice, and a focus on personal values. Regardless, what remains constant will be my sense of adventure, love for sharing experiences with those close to me, and the great outdoors.
